Laptop cpu issue

My cpu stutters while playing games on charging, for example : in Mudrunner on charging cpu stutters which results in drop of fps from 40 to 20 suddenly and on battery the fps sticks to 60 and runs smoothl. I schedule a best buy geek squad appointment and nathan fixed the issue by replacing the hdd with sdd. Now the problem is gone and laptop is working fine.
