Aiming for the stars, Netease originally pitched EVE Echoes Items back in 2015, a time when mobile gaming was just starting to show the ability to do more than simply match 3. Being EVE, it has taken a while and this instalment of CCP's franchise certainly looks like an decent homage to the background original. Unlike other gambling spin-offs, EVE Echoes appears to be galaxies apart from the pixel art, side-scrolling money captures that other franchises might settle for. Rather, EVE Echoes impresses its EVE cred upon new capsuleers in the word go.

Log in to your first time, and you will be presented with lore built on the center desktop EVE encounter. EVE Echoes is set in its own distinct EVE world, for obvious technical and narrative reasons, but anyone familiar with the franchise will immediately feel at home as you begin by trying to save an SOE ship in the get-go. Sadly, this action-packed opening in the depths of space does not go well for gamers, but thankfully you have obtained a clone. A central tenet of the EVE world, cones might be a replacement for magic respawns but do not expect too much diversity once you develop your own.

Like many cellular games, EVE Echoes provides some options for character creation but they are relatively limited. Initially allowing players to pick from one of four factions, EVE Echoes thankfully slots players to either the Amarr, Gallente, Caldari, or Minmatar races for this opening gambit. While each of the four races open their own taste or citizens to select from during character development, the impact of these early selections is somewhat limited for new players. Each of the four races arrive with their own history, detailed in a section of the narrative blurb, and also have slightly different technical skills. Beyond that, and most obviously, each race also has a different aesthetic and pair of bloodlines to your very first EVE Echoes clone.

Assuming you are able to select from the introduction four factions, then character development provides somewhat bit more diversity with a choice of bloodlines for each player to choose from. Every faction comes with three default bloodlines, the consequence of each culture's history, and players can pick from a mix of predetermined appearances in each. While this appears to be a big enough gene pool, I can not help but feel somewhat underwhelmed by the absence of personal attachment this brings to the opening moments of Cheap EVE Mobile ISK. Potential capsuleers may be looking for something a bit more intriguing than the usual 2D avatar however EVE was never about the color of a pilot's hair and when I can look like an extra on Cyberpunk 2077 then will have to perform while I save up to an epic appearing new boat in this new world.
